Born to British parents, Wendy grew up in Southern California. Her 17-year career in hospitality operations and management began at the Rusty Pelican where she worked while completing her bachelor’s degree at California State University at Fullerton.

Born to British parents, Wendy grew up in Southern California. Her 17-year career in hospitality operations and management began at the Rusty Pelican where she worked while completing her bachelor’s degree at California State University at Fullerton.
After graduation and a few stints at boutique restaurants, Wendy landed at the famous La Scala restaurants, founded in the 1950’s. Over nine years with the company she advanced from management to Director of Operations and finally became Vice President of operations. Wendy led La Scala’s transition from a family run business to a code compliant multi unit institution. As La Scala expanded she focused on hiring and developing the careers of the managers at the various restaurants. Wendy went on to join the management team at the acclaimed Chaya Venice, a thriving Japanese lounge, restaurant and sushi bar, in Venice Beach. She has also consulted a number of LA’s newest restaurant industry entrepreneurs, guiding openings of new locations, and overseeing negotiations and interactions with contractors and city officials.
Wendy has been successfully recruiting since 2005 having held the position as Director of Management Placements at a prominent boutique recruiting firm in the greater Los Angeles area for 13 years until finally establishing her own Tuttle Hospitality Careers in 2018. Caring greatly for both candidate and client, she is well known in the restaurant recruiting world by both owners and her carefully curated network of industry leaders. From small family owned to Michelin Star rated to Forbes 500 restaurants, her dedication is unwavering to find the perfect match.

Then you have to weed through all those hundreds of resumes, only to find out these sites leave it up to the candidate to update their working status. You soon realize these hundreds of matches are not all active candidates looking for employment. Candidates simply don't remember to pull their resumes down from sites after they have found employment. It's really no fault of their own, it's just not on the top of their mind once they find their new gig and they are off and running.
